Nearwork vs the competition

Everyone does part of it. Nearwork does all of it.

One partner for the whole hire — with transparent, published pricing.

  • Sourcing
  • Recruiting
  • COR/EOR
  • Dedicated teams
  • Strategic Partner Program

The honest, head-to-head proof against the biggest names in nearshore staffing. Every figure below links to where it's publicly posted — where a company doesn't publish pricing, we say so.

The all-in-one-place test

One partner. Every way to hire.

Most competitors do one slice of the hiring lifecycle. Nearwork is the only nearshore partner that covers all five — so you never have to stitch together vendors as you scale.

Sourcing, recruiting, COR/EOR, dedicated teams and a partner program — all in one place. Nearwork is the only one that does all five.
The honesty test

Only five companies in this category actually publish a price.

Everyone else asks you to book a call first. That's not a knock — but it's worth noticing when you're comparing options. Here's the full set of nearshore and offshore placement providers that publish real numbers.

Not on this table — because they don't publish a price: TECLA, Athyna, SouthTeams, Revelo, Near, DistantJob, and most of the rest of the category. Their pricing may be competitive, but it isn't verifiable without a sales call, so we're not going to guess at a number and put their name next to it. If a company publishes real pricing, we'll add them here.
Why the model matters more than the number

A percentage fee scales with the salary. A flat fee doesn't.

The moment you hire above entry-level, a % fee stops being a discount and starts being a tax. On a $90,000 senior hire, a 20% fee costs more than double our flat rate — and at 35%, more than eight times as much. The math only gets worse as the role gets more senior, which is exactly when firms with % pricing are least likely to publish their number up front.

Nearwork — flat fee$3,500
20% of $90,000 salary$18,000
35% of $90,000 salary$31,500
On a $90k hire, our flat fee saves $14,500–$28,000 versus a typical percentage-of-salary model.
Beyond flat vs. percentage

Why a flat placement fee beats renting a seat

Monthly bundles and hourly marketplaces price the relationship differently. Here's the honest tradeoff.

Monthly bundles (they employ, one invoice)

Salary, overhead, and margin rolled into one recurring invoice. Convenient — but you're renting the seat. Stop paying, and the relationship with that developer ends.

  • You pay: every month, indefinitely
  • You own: nothing — the vendor is the employer of record in practice
  • Best for: short-term or trial engagements where flexibility matters more than cost

Published rates: TECLA $4,500–$8,500/mo · Athyna $4,500–$11,000/mo · BEON $7,000–$10,000/mo

Hourly marketplaces

Built for fast, flexible sourcing — priced per hour, indefinitely. You never stop paying the markup.

  • You pay: an hourly markup, for as long as the engagement runs
  • You own: nothing without an extra buyout fee
  • Best for: short bursts of work, not a permanent team member

Published rates: Lemon.io $40–$90/hr (plus a reported ~$14,000 fee to hire directly) · Turing $100–$200/hr (~50% markup over developer pay) · CloudDevs $45–$75/hr

With Nearwork, you pay the flat fee once, and the hire is yours — full-time, on your payroll or ours through COR, with no ongoing markup and no per-hour tax. Renting a seat makes sense for a 3-week project. It stops making sense the day you want a real team member.

Common questions

Why doesn't this table include every nearshore staffing company?

Because most of them don't publish a price. We only compare against numbers we can point to on a public page — anything else would be a guess dressed up as a fact, and that's not a table we're willing to publish.

Is Nearwork always the cheapest option?

We're the lowest published flat fee for junior and mid-level roles, and tied with HireLATAM at the senior tier. We're not claiming to be the cheapest possible option in every scenario — we're claiming to be transparent about the one we charge.

Do any of these prices include payroll, benefits, or compliance?

No — the figures above are placement fees only, for sourcing and hiring the person. If you also need in-country payroll, compliance, and benefits administration, that's a separate service (Nearwork's COR starts at $99/contractor/month). Check whether a competitor's number includes that before comparing directly.
